We're off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of oz

Evening blog hoppers.

Tonight's post is a canvas called "Ruby Slippers" inspired by the film the Wizard of Oz. I was looking for an idea for the monthly challenge over on Bubbly Scrumptious which finishes this Sunday (Last Minute Minnie Strikes Again hahahaha) and jotted down all the house related phrases I could think of. A work colleague came up with "there's no place like home" which immediately made me think of Dorothy's chant.

So you have a pair of ruby slippers, the witches tights, five emerald stars for the Emerald City (where else haha) and a house with a spinner to represent the hurricane that whisked Dorothy away.

I'll plan to hang this in my hallway.

Thanks for stopping by, please leave a comment as I get excited when I receive them. x

Loot Glorious Loot!

Well yesterday I went to Ally Pally Stamp and Scrapbook Show and met up with some lovely ladies and had a great day chatting and swaping ideas. And of course I bought one or two items. tee hee. I have yet to use any of them and can't wait until tonight to open them all up.
I have been introduced to some new stamp companies that I have never used before so it is well worth visiting these shows just to get a "hands on feel" for new items and to speak to the stall holders and experts.

Have a good day and see you later.

Two more 52Q but I still haven't caught up yet but I'm getting there slowly. haha

The first one is Q28 What are your favourite days of Summer/Winter filled with? I think you were supposed to choose a season but I did both.

The second tag is Q29 Do you have a recurring dream? Yes I do and it is not a pleasant one but luckily I don't have it too often.

Thanks for stopping by and please leave a comment. x

Something fishy?

Well that is what the silverness on this card reminds me off - fish scales shimmering in the light.

I have sprayed grey card with waterbased inks and used rub ons on the squares. I have also inked paisley patterns on the blue paper as a background. Then a little doodling and voila!

Just another brick in the wall

I've done another 52Q tag this time it is number 26 "What would you write on your wall?"

I took my inspiration from the murals we saw at Mahon bus station in Menorca whilst on holiday back in August. Loved the colours and the images and knew I would use it somewhere.

I couldn't find anything out about the artwork but just loved it and it was so striking as you stepped off the coach. Here are some more photos.

Let's hear it for the boy ......

Thought I would blog about a scrapbook I made using Ruth's fabulous instructions over on the Bubbly Scrumptious blog a couple of week's ago.The instructions were easy to follow even if I didn't do them strictly to the letter - well we are all individuals after all aren't we?Kris is really happy with it and it was lovely to sort through the box full of photos to find ones to fit in this book. Brought back some really fun memories.

Lots of very funny photos - well he is a very funny boy! haha
Thanks for stopping by and having a look, please leave a comment as I love to read them and it also highlights other lovely blogs out there that I might have missed.

Bye!

You need hands ......

Come on sing along and don't tell me you are all too young to remember Max Bygraves lol. My Nan's favourite.

Well don't worry this is not a kareoke night hahaha I just wanted to show you two more of my 52Q cards one of which sports hands - get it?

Right. Here they are.

Question 25

and question 27

I found this image in a glossy magazine and thought it would look good on something so used on a tag.

Yes I know I have missed out Q26 but I am waiting for photos to arrive before I can finish it off. Check back next week and fingers crossed it should be here.

Thanks for stopping by.

Spotty and Dotty

Over on Bubbly Scrumptious I have joined in with weekly challenge number 4 to go spotty and dotty in your projects.

I have used gold spotty organza ribbon, purple and gold dotty handmade paper and then used a stamp with dots in it too. Dotty madness - hahaha

On the triple embossed chipboard letter there are also spots.

Hope you like it?

Hey hey it's the Monkees

Over on Elaine's blog she is looking for new names for her two monkies. Go leave her a suggestion. I've left mine. tee hee

Talking monkies I forgot to show you these photos of Funky on the journey back from Menorca. I felt very guilty about shoving him in the suitcase on the flight going out that I thought I would let him ride inside the cabin on the way home.

He had a seat to begin with until the flight filled up

and then had to sit on the seat tray for the rest of the journey apart from take off and landing when he went under the seat. lol

He was a little scared when he looked out the window to see we were above the clouds.
And then decided it was better not to look.
He has recovered from his adventure and looks forward to see his photo album real soon. Well it won't be that soon as I haven't begun it yet. ;)

Thanks for stopping by. x

Good day sunshine

Here is my card for the Daring Cardmakers Challenge.

So, this week it's Rein's turn to set the dare and the theme is simple and straightforward;

SUNFLOWERS

We love their happy, sunny appearance, somehow seeing them never fails to cheer, does it?
So we'd like to see lots and lots of glorious, cheerful sunflowers on your cards.

I left my card very simple with a Whipper Snapper Design Stamp and some chalks to colour it in. Then just some doodle lines around the outside of the card.

I do wish that I could obtain Whipper Snapper stamps easier than buying from USA but the ones I want are no longer available shame really. I do love Lindsay Ostrom's artwork.

Thanks for stopping by.

Anyway here are questions 21,

You are the sunshine of my life

Wow what a windy day today was. I need to be reminded of the sunshine and our holiday. Haven't been back a week yet.

Here are some photos of Sunj and I in Mahon the capital of Menorca. What a typical pair of tourists. lol

I know I look rather stupid in that hat but it was roasting even on the boat! This is the view I texted you from Beth. x

These photos were taken a short walk from our hotel. Rubbish photos as I don't know how to use the camera properly for night time shots. These were taken around 9 pm.

Romantic shots coming up - do you believe it Janice?

No - that is why Sunj is laughing haha

More photos soon.
