22 Days of Gratitude

I've been very busy since I last blogged and also had a birthday.  I wanted to share these journal pages with you that I completed on 22nd November as Lindsay's challenge of 22 Days of Gratitude.

The background has been coloured with Distress Ink pads and the shapes, stencilled on with the same Distress Ink pads.  Some doodling (there is even more since the photo was taken) and there, the page is finished.  I have many reasons to be grateful and count my lucky stars quite often.

Sending love and hugs to you all.

Busy, Busy

A reindeer in the trees for my Christmas card for today.  It's rather a busy card with the patterned paper in the background but I rather like it.

More dictionary pages used this time to make trees.

Thanks for visiting my blog today.

Citrus zing

I don't really know why I thought this satsuma and lemons would go with this card but it has given the photo a citrusy feel and
that makes me smile    :)

Again another card stamped on a random text page (from an old school dictionary)  so no significance to the wording haha.  After photographing this one and reading your comments on my last post about embellishments, I think this card could use a chipboard flower in the bottom left hand corner to lift the image a bit.  I  might make another of this design and do just that so watch this space....

Thanks for stopping by my blog and have a great Tuesday evening.

Three is the magic number

For the card a day blogging I've done three.  I couldn't wait until tomorrow to photograph them but that would mean I didn't have a card to show today iyswim?  It also means I have to craft again tomorrow - what a shame hahaha.

You can see I have had the blue and green paper and inks out can't you.  It wasn't planned honest.  I do love that pale blue glitter paper and it will probably feature in more Christmas cards to come.

I don't use any embellishments on my cards and that is something I think I will have to have a go at.  My Gorjuss girl stamped card looks like it needs something.  Most of the other Gorjuss stamps I have seen on cards have flowers or ribbons attached and I just can't "do" these sort of cards without making the card look too busy.  Think I just need practise.

Anyway thanks for stopping by and looking.

water colouring

Another day, another card and today I wanted to use my waterbrush and some Adirondack Brights ink.  I stamped this beautiful stamp by Phyllis Harris "your winds exist" straight onto a card blank and coloured straight on top.  Her hair and skin are coloured using Copic Sketch pens as I didn't have an ink pad suitable to use.

Thanks for leaving comments I do love to read them.

Text time

Not a Christmas card today but a "general" card for my box.  I saw this style of card first on Vicky's blog back on 22nd July 2011 and thought  I would have a go.  Not too sure I have picked the correct colours but I did enjoy stamping onto a page from an old school dictionary that my son had and was falling apart.  So with my recycling head on I made this card.

I am quite pleased that I have managed to blog a card a day for at least the last couple of days.  Head over the Kathy's blog to find out more and maybe even join in.

Thanks for stopping by.

boy oh boy

A male Christmas card is what Hazel challenged us to over on her Christmas Challenge Blog, so that is what I came up with.
A"monster Christmas" for a little monster haha

Kept the colours traditional with green and red.  The scraps of paper are Basic Grey and the monster stamp is from Paper Smoochies and coloured with Copics.

Thanks for popping by my blog.

A-Z Journal

This morning I would like to show you my "L" page in my 2012 A-Z Journal.  I should be nearer to the end of the alphabet since it is now November but that just means "I will have to put my skates on." as my Dad would say.  :)

L for the London exhibition of Tim Walker, photographer.  I visited recently with my daughter and I can honestly say his work is amazing.  If you get the chance to visit London make sure to see this exhibition the address is on the top left hand corner of the page.

Card a Day 2

Morning everyone ♥

Look it's not yet 9.30am and I've already made two Christmas cards!

hahaha  ok I know they are very simple but they count towards the large amount the family need to send this coming festive season and, I have made a Card a Day for Kathy's challenge. So I'm giving myself a thumbsup!

Keep warm everyone.

Card a day

I was full of good intentions to make a Card a Day as Kathy has suggested but have not managed that ... however I did make a card for a friend the other week, do you think that counts?

I know Kaz has received it now so I can show you all.

I've been practising with my Copic Sketch Markers, thanks Net for some tips, and using some new stamps recently purchased.

Fingers crossed that I can make another card tomorrow.  :)

Meet my friend

My daughter and I went to Tim Walker's photographic exhibition at Somerset House, London on Sunday.  It was a great exhibition and I would recommend a visit if you are able.  It's on until 27th January next year and it's free!

Tim Walker is a fashion photographer and uses great oversized props in his pictures.  One of which I had my photo taken with.......

Scary isn't she? and I mean the doll! hahahaha

Freaky Wrecking

Do you ever frighten yourself?  Well I did creating this page in my Wreck This Journal eeek!

The prompt was to create a drawing using hair .... so having just washed my hair I thought I would create.  After deciding to "draw" a hedgehog I inked the pages with spray ink, thinking it would dry darker brown than it has.  I wasn't sure what to stick the hair down with so used Gel Medium.  I splodged in down onto the page and stuck the hair too it.

That freaked me out and I tried to cover over the hair with some drawn on spines!  That just seemed to make it worse!

Hopefully these pages will get stuck together with time and I won't have to look at the offending hedgehog again.  But before that day comes I thought I would frighten you lot with it haha.

So here goes ...

Told you.  hahaha

What I've learnt in September

This post is very "photo heavy" as I didn't get round to posting photos each week to show you my creations for Learn Something New In September.  I've enjoyed limiting myself to just Copic Sketch pens and a black gel pen.  It has also given me some time to experiment with the Sketch pens.  I need lots more practice with sketching too.  But as they say, "practice makes perfect!"

Need to perfect my colouring technique as you can see on this one, although having said that the paper in this book was not the most Copic friendly.

I need to practice faces, definately, haha.  Look at this one below.  Very scary, hahaha

I need to learn how to draw hair styles too.

Some pages are simpler than others as time was a factor.

I like this page, the vegetables look like they have some dimension to them.

Thank you for stopping by my blog and looking at my artwork.

Learn something new

Well I did just that on Saturday ... I went to a workshop at Hatfield House on needle felting.  Oh boy was it fun.

I created these three items using the different techniques in needle felting as demonstrated by Lucynda Howard, a very friendly and knowledgeable woman.

I am now hooked and need to source some needles and foam.  I have some wool that my kind friend, Janice, gave me over a year ago now from when she showed me how to "wet felt" that was great fun too.

A bird shaped using a biscuit cutter.

Then using a piece of felt as backing, applying colours to "paint a picture".

Here is a 3D mouse I made using the last technique.  I do think he is rather cute if I must say so myself.  haha

Pages from my journal

Today I am going to show you more pages from my journal for Learn Something New Everyday.

As you can see, towards the end, the entries are very minimalist as some days I am more busier than others.  I'm still keeping to just Copic pens and a gel pen.  I need more practice with Copics and looking at these photos can see quite alot of areas that need "touching up".

Thanks for stopping bye

Learn Something New Every Day

That is what I am trying to do every day in September and journalling what I find.  Thanks Gez for the prompt to do something like this.  I think Gez participated in something like this that Shimelle ran from here blog.

I have decided to just stick to pen and Copic Sketch Marker Pens.  I didn't want to have a bulky journal and I thought (and have found) that it is much quicker to complete a day with limited equipment.

So here are my first few day . . .

Thanks for stopping by my blog today
