May Inchies

Hello, second day in a row I've blogged. Phew! Well today I am showing you my inchies I made for the Bubbly Funk May Inchie Swap. This months' theme was, "faces". My faces have come courtesy of an old edition of Elle magazine. I don't think any of the people are famous apart from the bearded man with long hair who is apparently a European hairstylist!!! - so it said in the magazine - and no I don't think they meant ZZTop's hairstylist either. lolI coloured the background using Ranger Distress Ink Pads and tool and doodled around the edge with black and white gel pens.

I'm looking forward to the June swap! Check out Bubbly Funk for lots of fun challenges and swaps.

back to school

Hello
Well back to school so not any posts this week. Well I'm here to put that right now!

I want to show you my latest 52Q tags they are number 13 and 14. Still two behind I think. Oh dear never mind there is always tomorrow. haha

The first one is:- What was my worst (or best) hairstyle experience. Well it has to be when I thought I would be a good idea to have a perm. eek! How wrong was I. haha I liked it at the time only regretting it when it started to grow out literally, it grew outwards not downwards. lol
The next question was:- What was the last good book you read?
Considering I have only read one book this year I put that one. It was a good book too. Kat bought me it for Christmas after we both had been to see French and Saunders on their farewell tour. That was a really great evening too. :)Thanks for looking please leave a comment.

Thanks Karen, yes the book I read was "Dear Fatty" by Dawn French. tee hee Can you tell I fell asleep at the pc. True!!!!

DCM Challenge

Over on the Daring Card Makers blog their challenge this week has been set by Rein. The challenge is:-

I'm daring you to make a masculine card Games and Toys for Boys put a race track, dart board, vehicle... on your card.

As luck has it I had to make a card for my 18 year old nephew. I know he doesn't read my blog - why would he? He is young and has better fish to fry over on Facebook and the like. lol I picked a football theme as he is an Arsenal fan - yuck! I am a Tottenham lass and it does pain me to make the kit look like an Arsenal one. lol

I used Three Bugs in a Rug papers and Penny Black stamps to make the numbers, Woodware stamps to make the football shirt and cup and for the lettering the stamps came from Papermania. The other papers are from my general stash and I used a black gel pen and white pen to do the doodling. What do you think?
Please leave a comment I love to read them.

Kathy's Waffle Sketch 2009 #8

Hi on this wet Thursday.
Hope you are all managing to stay dry?

I made this card last night using Kathy's sketch #8. Please check out her Sketch Blog for lots of great sketches and her personal blog too for lots of crafty inspiration. For this sketch Kathy has offered some blog candy to the luck person pulled out of the hat. Good luck everyone that enters.

I also got inspired by the flowers over on Bubbly Scrumptious Blog that Kathy created. Very easy to do and very effective.

Haven't got anyone to send this too just now so it will go in my reserve box. Next card I need is for my 18 year old nephew - don't think this fits the bill somehow. lol

Thanks for stopping by to read my ramblings. x

Inchies

Over on Bubbly Funk I have been taking part in the monthly inchie swap. Inchies are inch square works of art on any chosen theme. April's theme was birds and I didn't have a bird stamp or anything bird related so had to draw my own. Again I used the chicken image from Jane Chapman, children's book illustrator. I did have fun with all these chickens - 16 in total.

Well I have decided to put my inchie collection into an old scrapbook and very lovely I think they look too. I have glued the inchies into place using Glossy Accents as some ofthe inchies are made on chipboard and stampbord which gives them extra dimension. Perfect!

Thanks for looking and I will show next months, which is themed "faces", when I have completed them.

Tag Circle Journal

Hello all.

I have got my circle journal to show you this morning. I have had it back for a few weeks' but haven't got round to showing you all yet. Well here it is. The journal began it's journey last October over on Bubbly Funk and I wanted to make mine with chipboard and just have the theme as "Tags". I asked everyone to decorate one tag but on both sides.

I think everyone has done a fantastic job and each day I turn the pages and have a different one displayed in my sitting room. My ever changing work of art. I love it. A big thanks to all the contributors.

Thanks for stopping by and having a look.

Hi and today I'd like to show you two of my Emily Falconbridge 52Q tags.
A little late but nevertheless they are now done.
Q12 was inspired by the talented Claudine Hellmuth and it was really fun to do, I can see me trying more of these in the future.
Have a great day!

Yay! Easter holidays start here

Two weeks off work...... yay! I really must get lots done both crafty and housework (yes I know it is a dirty work - haha get it - see what I did there? lol) but it has to be done and if I want to do more creative stuff then Sunj has to see the house looking good so he thinks I have spent all day cleaning. Well that is my plan anyway.

So first up to show you is one of this month's Christmas cards for the 25 Club over on the Bubbly Funk forum.

Love the colours on this one and everything was just lying around my desk and I just shuffled bits together and this card popped out. What do you think?

25th Club

Yes, yes late again .... I know tee hee but I couldn't find any inspiration this month for Christmas cards and then I found these reindeer (Christmas decorations bought in Tesco last December) lying on my desk and thought ah I'll use them.

They have been triple embossed in gold so they have a raised smooth finish ooooooo. Thought they would go well with the midnight blue paper I found which was purchased at the local Paper Mill in the Galleria. Found loads of the stuff so will have to use it up if I want to buy more papers.

Over on the Fiskarettes blog their monthly competition is to design a project and have an egg somewhere on it secret or obvious. Well I have just used the egg shape (I think the posh word for it is an ellipse? :) )

Chick chick chick chick chicken

This is my card for this week's DCM Dare:-

I would like this week to see cards with a chick, a bunny or both!

Well I have done a chicken inspired by Jane Chapman, children's illustrator of "What If?" a book I have been looking at with children in my class this week.

Why she is standing by a giant flower - I don't know just had it lying around my desk. Thought they went well together.

Thoughtful Kat

Well yesterday didn't quite go according to plan. Kat and I were meant to go to the V & A Museum to an exhibition on Hats by Stephen Jones. But I was really ill (food poisoning I think) and unable to go. Luckily for me one of Kat's friends was able to step into my shoes and go with her.

I was really looking forward to going to the exhibition and felt I had let Kat down. :(
After a couple of hours I felt much better and was awake when she returned from her evening out. She said it was a good exhibition and that I would have loved it too. The shop was full of lots of goodies and Kat would have spent more only I hadn't gone with my credit card lol. Anyway with the money she had she bought me these lovely handmade papers as a get well present. I thought the gesture really sweet and that is why I thought I would share this with you all.

Q11 0f 52

"What 5 movies inspire you creatively."
mmmmmmmmmmm I had to think about this one. Well I have had to think about them all really haha.

I have come up with Devdas, Amelie and Alice in Wonderland. All for different reasons and I know before you say anything, there is only three but I couldn't think of any more films that fitted the brief. I love lots of varied films but not ones that inspire me to create.

March Bubbly Calendar

Altered Tin Challenge

Over on the Bubbly Scrumptious blog as well as tons of inspiration they are have a monthly challenge (sometimes with prizes - yippee). Well this month's challenge is to alter a tin.

I found this round tin which my son gave me - it had a bendy monkey in it originally haha - and thought that I would alter it very simply.

So I covered it in Cosmo Cricket Mr Campy paper and painted a grungeboard arrow with an acrylic dabber and stuck it to the top of the tin. I then added the word recycle and stuck that on the arrow too.

I intend to put inchies inside until they are ready to get stuck into my new book I made for them which I will blog another time.

Thanks for looking at my blog please leave a comment. Ta x

52Q

Well I have been very slow to do these two questions. Number 8 "What was the last thing that made me laugh?" and Number 9 "What was the last brave thing I did?" Not slow because I didn't know how to answer the questions but slow because I'm a slow crafter. tee hee.

Well here they are just before Number 10 comes out over the weekend.

Thanks for taking a looksee. :)

DCM Circular

Just got in in time to put this on my blog before the next dare. tee hee.

A card for a friend using Bo Bunny and Sweetdreams papers, some brads, doodling and inking.
Hello all my friends in Blogland!

Look what I bought on Saturday from Paperchase. Couldn't resist their cheeky faces and my Emily Falconbridge Art Journal Journey cards that I made last year fit perfectly inside.
