Bank Holiday Blogging

ssssh- do you think the weather knew it was an English Bank Holiday today? It was so sunny and warm.

My parents visited today which was lovely and they brought my hairy brother with them too.

Do you want to see a photo of how he looks now?

Hasn't he filled out and of course got a lot more hair! He has an appointment with the dog barbers tomorrow but don't worry it will just be a trim. :)

If you have forgotten what Bob looked like when my parents first got him then check back to the 18th February post and you will see a very stern looking Bob. Haha.

Thanks for visiting at my blog today.

A few days away

Hello everyone thought you might like to see some photos of my recent little break in Wiltshire, Somerset and Dorset and we only went for four days haha. We stayed at a gorgeous hotel, Beechfield House Hotel and it was as wonderful as we remembered it. We had previously stayed there in 2007 but not in this room with it's half tester - boy you needed a step to get up to the bed! It was extremely comfortable though. Sunday we drove to Poole and walked along the harbour, skimming stones and looking for shells - in the pouring rain - we made the best of it, well you have to when you are on holiday in the UK don't you. Then got back into the car to dry off and drove to Corfe Castle in Dorset. Still raining but that didn't stop us from enjoying the sights and the magnificence of the place.
Think my new craft room needs some work don't you? haha

Monday we went to Longleat and this visit was even better than in 2007. We fed deer from our car (you buy £1 pot of special deer pellets) and the deer have no fear and just stick their heads through the open car windows - I don't have any photos of this as I was using the video camera but the film is very amusing. Of course we did everything on our Longleat passports and made a day of it, including riding on the train,
riding the simulator (which to be honest wasn't very good), Kris and I went into the Maze and found the middle and the way out again! Went into Longleat House and also in to see the bats again a favourite of our visit back in 2007 and again a bat wee'd on me - charming hahaha.

Tuesday
we spent in Bath itself. Beginning at the Roman Baths and I tasted the waters - they weren't as bad as i thought they would be and drank half a glass. :) Although the admission price was expensive at £12 a ticket we combined them with a ticket to the Fashion Museum and it didn't work out too bad. I think both museums were value for money in their information and enjoyment. After lunch we went on a boat trip down the Bristol Avon and I got to see my first kingfisher - unfortunately it was too quick for me and I missed getting a photo. As you can see from the photos it didn't rain all the time we were away and we all had a thoroughly brilliant relaxing time.

I'll just leave you with a photo that I took laying down from the bed on Wednesday morning just to show you the wonderful view and how high up the bed was haha.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.

Seeing Red

Hello peeps

Well I'm not angry as the title of the posting might suggest, it is just that the two cards I am going to show you today are both coloured using the Distress Ink Barn Door. This is a lovely deep vibrant red colour.

This first card was one of those cards I make with whatever is sitting on my desk at the moment. I have had this image stamped out for ages and it was just lurking on my desk and I spotted her (Serena, I think) and plonked her on the front!

The second card didn't end up being sent this way as I wrote on the inside and then realised I had written two cards for the same recipient! - how dumb is that? hahaha

So I ended up using the front of the butterfly and stuck it onto another card - which I can't show you as I didn't take a photo of it! It was for my Bubbly friend Hazel whos birthday it is today - so happy birthday Hazel.

Thanks for taking a look through my blog today.

Gardening

I did promise Sunj that I would be doing all sort of jobs around the house and garden while on summer holidays - oops! The holidays are nearly over and the jobs? ...... well some of them are getting done. hahaha

Exhibt A one of the four flower beds in our front garden BEFORE being attacked with garden fork, elbow grease, blood (yes!) and sweat! yuck.

Exhibt B the same flower bed AFTER all my hard work ...... ok I did get help moving the Pieris into the middle but only once I had removed the majority of the rest of the plants. Just fancied having a feature plant in the middle of each bed.

So that is one down, three more to go and only a week and four days of the holiday left. mmmmmm don't think this will get done this side of Christmas do you? hahaha

Thanks for stopping by today.

Work Desk Wednesday

Hello, I know another blog post - twice in one day? - well I just had too with it being WOYWDW (check over to Julia's blog for the details and others who have joined in) because this morning I received this wonderful rotary storage from Tando Creative!

Filled it up already and so my desk is clear and tidy ready to create! Plus everything is to hand. So I thought I would blog a photo of how much stuff this rotary storage holds. I need to clear it all off though as I have yet to decorate it. Kaz has made a fantastic job of hers hope I can do half as well - mmm what colours do I choose?

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.

Daring Card Makers Challenge

Good morning everyone!

Last night I had a play in my art journal and came up with this tree. As the Daring Cardmakers Challenge this week is "Trees" I thought I would enter this page.

Spray inks, Blonde Moments papers, scrap pieces of paper, doodling, embossing and the stamp is from Rhonna Farrer and is called "flower stems" (I seem to be using it alot lately) all went into making this page.

Please go over and take a look some great work by the Design Team and other talented people - sure to inspire those stuck without some mojo!

oo oo oo Just remembered that the BBQ Supremo papers were Fancy Pants! how could I forget a name like that? hahaha

No Balloon Flight Monday

I'm a bit down in the dumps this morning as I should of been up in my hot air balloon but it has been cancelled again!!! Oh well I'll try and book it for another day later on.

So to cheer myself up and make my blog look pretty I have uploaded two cards I made using some crafting foil. Never tried this before and thought I would give it a go. It was amongst the craft supplies I was given by my daughter's boyfriend's Aunt. I first spread glue randomly on the card blank and then applied the foil (shiny side up), rubbed it all over and heated it for a few seconds, waited (not very long tee hee) and then pulled the foil off leaving behind the shiny surface.

The first card is for a friend's birthday

And the second one is a thank you card to my daughter's boyfriend's Aunt who sadly can no longer craft and I was very fortunate to be given all of her supplies.

This photo give you a close up of the foiling

Thank you for visiting my blog today.

Anybody In?

While in Sheffield last weekend I came across this old police box. So ever hopeful I thought I would try the door and see if anyone looking like Mr Tennant was inside ...... unfortuately it was locked! Notice the look of disappointment on my face. tee hee

BBQ Supremo

I haven't shown you anything for so long I can't remember whether I have shown you my BIL's card I made back in July! The image was one I received from Joanne and I just love the 1950s feel of it. I can't remember what company the paper is from and then I doodled a frame and stamped out the caption.

Perfect for my BIL who is indeed a Barbeque Supremo!

Friday 13th

I don't know whether you are superstitious or not? Not sure if I am "touch wood" nothing goes wrong today haha!

Just to let you know that the photos that didn't enlarge on the previous post now do - well the double page photos (I couldn't do all of the other ones) I think it is doesn't work when I upload photos from my laptop which means I will have to use the family pc (well the "male's of the houses" pc) not used to sharing a computer - it has been a while haha.

Bye!

Two 365 Calendar Challenge Pages

Having just completed my July pages and photographed them in readiness to blog them today I realised that I hadn't blogged June's pages. ooops!

So without further ado ... here are my June pages very, very late!

Left hand side ...

Right hand side ...

tree detail in the middle of the two pages ...

I used my water brush and Distress and Adirondack Ink Pads for the bright, vibrant colours.

As a contrast to June's pages and because I found blog candy I won from Tracy aka Queenie *thanks* x I thought I would use the subtle and shabby chic look - also because having very little time during July the squares were already cut on a die cut sheet - lazy moo that I am. hahaha.

Right hand side page

Left hand side page

Still colourful but just hints and tones rather than "in your face bright colours!" Pop over the Kate's blog and catch up on everyone's calendar pages there are some fantastic crafters out there in blog land.

Thank you for looking at my blog today. x x

Angelic

Nothing so decadent for you to look at today I'm afraid **sigh** but something good for the soul and heart. Well nearly haha!

I'm talking angels. The July 25th Club Challenge to be exact was "angels" and I thought I would use this stamp from Whipper Snappers Designs always a favourite of mine to colour in. I used my water brush and Distress Ink pads to give these a splash of colour. Then added a rub on to the blue card and doodled on the pink card.

Now to get on with August's challenge.

Hello

My pc has finally died and I am without a pc of my own so using this very small, annoying but very convenient laptop.

Not sure whether I can post photos on here but I will have a go! Wow very atmospheric a clap of thunder haha really! Just like in the films! haha.

Here goes think it has worked?

This is from my art journal and I produced it yesterday and spent the rest of the day with red fingers - perfect match with my green nail varnish!

For those not in the know I really heart Mr Tennant swooon!

If this has posted I will update again tomorrow, ciao.

:)
